Another 700 CAP funded trees are in 🙌 and sinking roots into a farmland ridge to extend woodland and slow the flow of water as it runs down to the flood prone Somerset Levels. 5000 Trees Planted to Breathe Life back into Holcot Wood in Bedfordshire
Across the gloomiest days of early Jan, hardy local volunteers were forcing spades into the cold ground in a sterling effort to get trees planted. They managed several hundred of the 5000 total CAP funded trees that have now been planted to help replenish the ancient Holcot & Reynolds Woods in Bedfordshire. The work is tough but thanks to its strong purpose everyone kept locked in! The trees will replace any dying ash and boost growth throughout. Species include oak, hornbeam

Winter Trees 🍁🕸✨
Winter Trees in the CAP field. This small one acre field was planted by the CAP team five years ago with 500 native mixed trees including oak, beech, field maple, hawthorn, rowan, wild cherry, goat willow, dog willow and blackthorn. It was thanks to the brilliant Woodlan Trust's MOREwoods scheme. It is now looking thoroughly established and rather lovely🍃🐞🌿🦔 #plant #carbonaware
