Pasture Woodland in Cumbria
Planting Pasture Woodland
Over the Autumn of 2020, your funds contributed to the planting of 1000 trees at Lowther Whale in Cumbria to make up a unique pasture woodland designed to coexist with grazing livestock. With low-density planting and individually protected trees, the project run by Forest Carbon covers over 100 acres and showcases how productive farming and tree planting can thrive together. It’s a great example of sustainable, integrated land use, demonstrating that woodland creation and grazing can successfully go hand in hand.
